Music Department
Choir Pic Choir Pic

The St. Peter’s Music Department has one main goal: to enhance our worship experience by reinforcing the Scripture lessons for each service.  As a side benefit, the musicians enjoy uplifting Christian fellowship as they prepare their musical offerings to the Lord.

The Senior Choir is composed of St. Peter’s members of high school age and older.  This choir regularly presents worship music which is theologically and technically challenging.  Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7:00 PM during the school year.

The Junior Choir is made up of volunteers from St. Peter’s School.  These children sing for worship services during the school year.

The Handbell Choir uses the congregation’s four-octave set of handbells to add beauty to our worship services.  The handbell ringers play for services at least once a month during the school year.  They rehearse Thursdays at 6:15 PM.  A Junior Handbell Choir, made up of St. Peter’s school children, currently rings for school chapel and other events.

The St. Peter’s school children also learn and sing worship anthems and verses as part of their daily curriculum.  The St. Peter’s school band develops instrumentalists who contribute their talents to Friday morning school chapel services.

Throughout the year, our talented vocal and instrumental soloists present their many and varied talents to the Lord and to our congregation.

The music of St. Peter’s worship is planned and developed by the Music Committee, composed of Pastor Schaefer, Music Director Janice Jacobi, (who serves as organist and pianist for our services), worship elder, assistant organist Mrs. Christine Baganz, and school representatives Mrs. Rebecca Lohrmann and Miss Michele Diener.
